When the Wind Blows, Even Grass and Trees Speak” — A Group Show by Three Japanese Women Artists at Wuhan SKP

Dates: July 12 (Sat) – August 31 (Sun), 2025
Venue: 4F Gallery Space, Wuhan SKP
(18 Shahu Road, Wuchang District, Wuhan, Hubei Province, China)
MJK Gallery is pleased to present the group exhibition Fū Suikusa Mokuba Koe Ari (When the Wind Blows, Even Grass and Trees Speak), opening on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the 4F Gallery Space inside Wuhan SKP, a luxury department store in Wuhan, China.
This exhibition features three Japanese women artists — Eriko Suzuki, Nana Kuromiya, and Saori Doi — whose practices engage deeply with themes of perception, nature, and the invisible. The exhibition title is drawn from a classical Chinese phrase that expresses an animistic worldview: the belief that all elements of the natural world possess spirit, sensation, and intent.
Each artist explores this idea through different mediums, including sound, the body, materials, and painting. Their works seek resonance with the unseen, establishing an empathetic dialogue with the world around us. Through layers of auditory, tactile, emotional, and mnemonic experiences, the exhibition invites viewers into a new realm of sensory perception.
We invite you to step into this spiritual and perceptual art space this summer in Wuhan — a place where objects and humans, nature and the body, the visible and the invisible, all intertwine and echo one another.
